Protesters splash police officers with red paint as demonstrators gather in Pristina to demand the resignation of the dean and a number of teaching staff of Pristina University, Kosovo. Five policemen and about a dozen students were injured when anti-riot police used pepper spray and batons to disperse protesters who have been peacefully blocking the rectorate of Pristina University for seven days.

Student-participants from Asian countries prepare to race their hand-made fuel-efficient vehicles during the competition dubbed Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Asia in Manila, Philippines. Organizers said the race has attracted 109 students from 15 countries in Asia and the Middle East and is aimed to " showcase their innovations in sustainable mobility."
